Most training and coaching is classroom based, can be intimidating and impersonal, and almost always ignores the employees' personality.
By using some of the techniques referred to in 'assessing a candidate short list' and tools such as MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and Belbin, we are able to provide a more personalised approach to coaching and mentoring, by helping the employee:
- Understand how their interpersonal skills affect how they develop business relationships.
- How to improve those relationships to work better with colleagues.
- What impact their work style preferences have on their efficiency and effectiveness.
- What motivates and de-motivates them.
- How they like to manage, and be managed.
It is only with such knowledge that people can start to improve their performance.
Individual coaching will identify what support is required, thereby helping the employees' manager put together a personalised plan that will lead to performance improvement, together with follow up reviews.
