Advertising is not the only way to find job seekers.
The internet has spawned hundreds of job boards, most of them with a database of CVs, some of which are clearly better than others.
Candidates identified on a CV database require a different approach to those that respond to advertising:
- Such candidates have not responded to an advertisement; because you are approaching them, the psychology involved demands a different, more thoughtful style.
- It is highly likely that candidates have already been approached by employers and recruitment agencies, and become wary of fielding aggressive phone calls.
- The opportunity for passive headhunting becomes available.
Used properly, CV databases can augment a well organised recruitment campaign, and more specifically, target the 'casual' job seeker.
